Camp Estival d’Excellence is a basketball camp in Montreal near Parc Jarry for boys and girls aged 10 to 18 year-old in. The Camp is sanctioned by the Quebec Basketball Federation and takes place in August, enabling the campers to prepare for the new basketball season that begins thereafter. The first edition took place in 1993 and the Camp has grown ever since.
The founder, Didier Vandycke, has always wanted the Camp to aim developping excellence and that everything happens in a very pleasant atmosphere. This philosophy never changed and is still visible during the Camp. Today, the Camp allows approximately 200 players and 25 coaches from Quebec, the rest of Canada, the United States and Europe to practice their favorite sport in an environment conducive to development and learning.
In 2017, a new page turns on the camp’s 25th anniversary. Jean-François Allard and Mehdi Stambouli became the new directors. Highly aware of the reputation the camp has built over the years, the intention is not only to retain it but above all to improve the quality of the services and the supervision offered while adjusting to the reality of today’s basketball. High-level speakers, coaches and athletes come during the week to share their life experiences, academic and athletic paths and tips to inspire and positively influence campers on their journey. Here is a non-exhaustive list of our former campers, our former speakers or even players who have come to play against our campers of Excellence groups during the evening games in the last years. Attempting to bring together the best players and coaches is exactly what we have been doing since the beginning
